There is something about a meal cooked over an open fire that just feels right. Cracker Barrel knew that back in 1997, when they first introduced their Campfire Meals, and fans have never quite forgotten them.
After a seven-year absence, those beloved foil-wrapped dishes are coming back to Cracker Barrel locations this summer. And this time, they are bringing a few new additions along for the ride.
The Classics Return
The two original stars are back on the menu. Campfire Chicken features a marinated half-chicken seasoned with campfire spices, then sealed in foil and slow-cooked with corn on the cob, red skin potatoes, carrots, grape tomatoes, and onions in a buttery broth.
Campfire Beef brings tender slow-braised beef together with those same campfire vegetables and spices, all sealed in foil for a hearty, savory finish.
Sarah Moore, Chief Marketing Officer at Cracker Barrel, put it well. “Campfire Meals have been part of our story for nearly three decades, and every time they return, our guests remind us how meaningful this tradition is,” she said.
Something New at Breakfast

For the first time ever, Cracker Barrel is bringing those campfire flavors to the breakfast table. The new Campfire Breakfast Skillet combines bacon, smoked sausage, roasted red peppers and onions, Colby cheese, and three scrambled eggs.
Moore added that the chain is excited “to introduce Campfire flavors at breakfast and allow our guests to experience that same tradition in a new way.”
Save Room for Dessert
The sweet side of this summer menu is no afterthought. The S’mores Brownie Skillet is a warm chocolate brownie topped with a roasted marshmallow and a melting Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bar, served over crumbled graham crackers with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
If you prefer something a little cozier, the Cinnamon Roll Skillet brings fresh-baked mini cinnamon rolls with a gooey filling, finished with cream cheese icing and served warm.
These dishes are available for a limited time only this summer. If Campfire Meals hold a special place in your memory (or you have simply been curious), now is the time to head over to your nearest Cracker Barrel.
